How to Reach

You can reach Lachen in North Sikkim from NJP Railway station or Bagdogra airport if you are coming via West Bengal, and Gangtok airport if you are coming by air via Gangtok.It is around 197 KM from Bagdogra airport. It is around 260 KM from Siliguri and takes around 12 - 13 hours, Around 140 KMs from Gangtok and takes around 5 - 6 hours. But you should never try to reach Lachen directly from Siliguri because of the distance, high altitude and the hectic journey. You should obtain pass (Inner Line Permit) from Gangtok office before starting your journey towards Lachen, North Sikkim
